The Port of Corpus Christi has made two deputy port director appointments. Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. With her departure to assume fulltime responsibility as a member of the House of Commons in Ottawa, Alan Paul, the port authority's vice president and chief financial officer, has assumed the position of acting president and chief executive officer at the authority.

The U.S. Senate has confirmed the nomination of Gen. Duncan J. McNabb, a 34-year U.S. Air Force veteran who most recently served as U.S. Air Force vice chief of staff, to assume command of the U.S. Transportation Command, succeeding Gen. Norton A. Schwartz, who has assumed the position of U.S. Air Force chief of staff.
