Efforts to help people in the Bahamas have included assistance from&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/gaports.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Georgia Ports Authority,<\/a>which gathered <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsav.com\/news\/help-georgia-ports-help-bahamas-storm-victims\/\" target=\"_blank\">disaster relief supplies<\/a> and filled shipping containers; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.porttb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Port Tampa Bay<\/a>, along with industry partners, that <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/flaports.org\/2019\/09\/23\/port-tampa-bay-and-port-st-pete-collaborate-to-organize-relief-efforts-for-the-bahamas\/\" target=\"_blank\">filled eight containers<\/a> totaling 113,500 pounds of medical supplies and dry good necessities; and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.portofvirginia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Port of Virginia<\/a>, which also <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/aapa.files.cms-plus.com\/PDFs\/POV%20-%20Help%20For%20Bahamas_1570640672403_1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">collaborated to send critical supplies.<\/a>&nbsp;AAPA is proud of the support its members have provided to disaster stricken port authority personnel and their families in the past, and urges industry colleagues to donate to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aapa-ports.org\/about\/content.aspx?ItemNumber=21800\" target=\"_blank\">AAPA Port Employees Emergency Relief Fund<\/a> since we anticipate the number of current and future requests for assistance will be significant. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Immediate needs and long-term support to help in rebuilding the northern Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian continue to be a high priority for AAPA and its members.
