On Feb. 6, Ranger Construction<\/strong> was awarded a bid at Manatee County Port Authority<\/strong> for the addition of two more access lanes and extension of the existing roof structure. They were the only company to bid on the project, and submitted a bid in the amount of $782,923. On May 17, 2018, the Authority approved Stantec Consulting Services Inc. for the design, permitting and construction phase services of the North Gate Expansion Project, which will double the exit lanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Feb. 11, Flores Construction Co<\/strong>. was awarded a $1,238,073 bid at Manatee County Port Authority<\/strong> for $1,238,073 worth of cold storage warehouse improvements. Five companies submitted a bid: E&L Construction Services, LEMA Construction, L COBB Construction Inc., Flores Construction Co. and Halfacre Construction Co. The scope of work consists of: construction of a 4,500 square foot preengineered metal loading dock building not insulated for cold storage with six loading\/unloading bays with a concrete stem wall and elevated finish floor; construction of an open-air forklift bridge connecting the new loading dock building with an existing loading dock building; demolition of an existing concrete ramp and steel pipe rail; and construction of a portable forklift ramp. On July 24, 2018, the Authority approved RS&H, Inc., for the warehouse 2 loading docks design, permitting and construction phase services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HDR<\/strong> submitted a proposal to Port Houston<\/strong> in response to the port\u2019s “RFQ 1019 \u2013 Engineering Services for Ship Channel Project and Beneficial Use Sites” \u2013 and was awarded the contract. HDR was selected to design two projects for Port Houston: a portion of its major channel widening project and a new, updated maintenance facility. HDR will be the lead engineer and designer for two of six segments in the port\u2019s channel improvement initiative. Project manager Neil McLellan and project director Dave Weston are leading a team of over 35 professionals from HDR offices in Houston, Corpus Christi, Austin and Lafayette, and are shooting for a 2024 completion date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Port Houston has also awarded a professional services contract to HDR for the programing (sizing), design and construction support for a new maintenance facility at the Barbours Cut Terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
