Courtesy of&nbsp;Points&nbsp;Northeast Historical Society<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.portoftacoma.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Port of Tacoma<\/a>&nbsp;Commission has identified 10&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.portoftacoma.com\/news-releases\/2020-07-23\/port-tacoma-awards-economic-development-funds-10-pierce-county-projects\" target=\"_blank\">local economic development projects<\/a>&nbsp;to invest in. These projects will be funded by the port\u2019s Local Economic Development Investment Fund, an annual program that supports non-profit organizations and local governments in Pierce County that promote international trade, tourism or infrastructure efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.portseattle.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Port of Seattle<\/a>&nbsp;will rename six port-owned parks and shoreline access sites along the Duwamish River to new names that reflect the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.portseattle.org\/news\/port-seattle-launches-campaign-rename-six-parks-along-duwamish\" target=\"_blank\">cultural and environmental history of the area<\/a>.
