C<\/strong><\/span>ongratulations to the 2023 AAPA Lighthouse Award winners.<\/p>\n

AAPA is proud to acknowledge our members for their inspiring projects, contributions and successes.<\/p>\n

The annual awards program began in 1966 with the Communications Awards to recognize exemplary communications projects and programs. In 2021, the awards program was renamed the Lighthouse Awards and now includes four categories: Communications, Environmental Improvement, Facilities Engineering and Information Technology.<\/p>\n

The Overall Beacon Award of Excellence judging is determined by a port\u2019s public relations, advertising, and marketing budget. Port authorities exceeding $800,000 compete as Category 3 budget ports, while port authorities with communications budgets between $300,000 and $800,000 a year compete as Category 2 budget ports, and port authorities with communications budgets less than $300,000 enter the competition as Category 1 budget ports.<\/p>\n

Applications for this year\u2019s competition period will open in May 2024, and winners will be announced in advance of the AAPA 2024 Annual Convention & Expo in Boston, Mass., Oct. 27-30. For more information, visit https:\/\/bit.ly\/4bPc9ku<\/a>.<\/p>\n
