The Foundation for the Seaports of the Americas<\/a><\/strong> is launching a new scholarship program to support undergraduates pursuing ports and maritime careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHelping aspiring professionals pursue their dreams is deeply rewarding \u2014 and this scholarship is one way we\u2019re investing in the next generation of maritime leaders.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 – Joseph Morris<\/strong>,  Foundation for Seaports of the Americas, Board Chair and Port Everglades CEO and Port Director<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Funding & awards: $5,000 scholarship for every $50,000 in minimum Foundation balance (currently $95,000 \u2014 just $5,000 from a second award).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Apply: The application portal<\/a><\/strong> is open now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Deadline: June 26, 2026 (awards announced August 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Eligibility: Undergraduate students in maritime-related academic or workforce programs (including technical\/vocational training, certificates, or registered apprenticeships) that support the ports industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Nomination required: Students (including children of port employees or interns) must be nominated by an AAPA member port; each member port may nominate one applicant in this cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Application requirements: Online application, two recommendation letters (one from nominating port leadership), and a 500\u2013750 word statement of purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
