Action Requested – Send Letter Urging Investments in PIDP to Congress

As Congressional Democrats continue to negotiate the contours of their budget reconciliation bill, AAPA’s Government Relations team is doing all it can to ensure funding for the port industry is included in the bill. In the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s reconciliation draft, offshore wind is listed as one of several priorities for the Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP). AAPA has partnered with other associations in the maritime and offshore wind industry in a letter sent to Congressional Leadership advocating for $2.5 billion for PIDP. The letter to Congressional Leadership was also sent to the White House and U.S. Department of Transportation staff. AAPA encourages member ports to send this letter to their Congressional Delegation and urge that $2.5 billion for PIDP must stay in the bill. Contact AAPA government relations associate Ian Gansler with any questions.
