Commissioners Seminar Wraps Up in San Diego

AAPA’s annual Commissioners Seminar in San Diego, Calif. attracted more than 100 governing board members of ports, their commissioners and those involved in  management and leadership from across the industry. Timely advice from industry experts was presented through topics ranging from the global economy and trade, growth and new opportunities, alternative and renewable fuels, sustainability and infrastructure investment, workforce development and recruitment, and more.

AAPA’s Vice President of Government Relations and General Counsel Cary Davis was a featured presenter who spoke broadly on the forecasts for federal legislation that could affect ports in the upcoming year. Speakers shown (from left) include Davis, Jenny Windle and Susanne Bankhead from JPW Communications, Lasse Petterson from Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company and AAPA Premier Fleet Sponsor, Shaun Sumner and Jason Giffen from Port of San Diego, and Matthew Do from Jones Lang LaSalle. The seminar culminated with a waterside tour of San Diego Bay.

AAPA extends its thanks and appreciation for the speakers, sponsors and participants who made this a terrific event. Plan now to be involved in next year’s Commissioners Seminar in Corpus Christi, Texas.
