With less than three weeks until the Legislative Summit: Now, We Build! – AAPA’s preeminent leadership event in Washington, D.C. – the business program kicks off with speaker Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Attendees will also hear from Mitch Landrieu, White House Senior Advisor for Infrastructure Coordination.
In addition, a high-impact roundtable discussion will explore how port supply chain partners are looking at infrastructure investment. CEO roundtable speakers include Lasse Petterson, CEO, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company; Ammar Kanaan, CEO, TIL; Jesse Whitfield, Director, Global Ocean Product, UPS; George Pasha, Chairman, President and CEO, The Pasha Group; and Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS). David Lynch of The Washington Post will moderate the discussion.
Day two of the summit will feature a mix of events including speakers General Stan McChrystal, Dan Maffei, Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission, and Larry Hogan, Governor of Maryland. Breakout roundtable sessions and awards presentations for AAPA’s Port Persons of the Year and the AAPA President’s Award for Legislative round out day two.
On day three, AAPA Government Relations staff will arrange a series of meetings for port leaders to meet with members of Congress and federal agency staff to network and communicate issues affecting their ports.
