Last week in Los Angeles, CA, participants explored the latest developments facing ports at the first-ever AAPA Port Administration Management Conference, hosted by the Port of Los Angeles, along with AAPA’s Public Relations, Finance & Administration, and Legal Committees. This gathering proved to be a remarkable platform for industry professionals to come together and gain insights into the latest trends and challenges facing ports worldwide.
The event featured a stellar lineup of main-stage keynote speakers who delivered thought-provoking presentations, as well as deep-dive workshops that delved into critical aspects of port operations. Esteemed guests including Paul Bingham, Director of Global Intelligence & Analytics at Transportation Consulting, S&P Global Market Intelligence, provided valuable insights on the Port Economic Outlook for 2023 and beyond. Gene Seroka, President & CEO of the Port of Los Angeles, shared invaluable tips on addressing the media effectively.
The panel discussions were a highlight of the event, addressing topics of interest to the attendees. One panel explored how artificial intelligence can enhance port operations and management, showcasing the innovative approaches being adopted by the industry. Another panel focused on the pressing issue of The Great Resignation, Reset, Reshuffle, and Retention, offering strategies to navigate workforce challenges in the future.
