Maritime Historian to Kick Off Annual Convention

AAPA’s Annual Convention & Expo, September 28-30 in New Orleans, will open with a keynote from Dr. Salvatore Mercogliano, maritime historian at Campbell University and host of the “What’s Going on With Shipping?” podcast.

The session will examine the Trump administration’s Maritime Action Plan and what “Restoring American Maritime Dominance” means for port infrastructure, including the proposed fee on foreign-built vessels and capital flowing to newly designated Maritime Prosperity Zones. The talk will be introduced by Omar Garcia, Chief External Affairs Officer at the Port of Corpus Christi.
