Port Infrastructure Projects Selected for INFRA Awards

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) announced the Biden-Harris Administration has selected 24 projects to receive funding under the FY 2021 Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) discretionary grant program. Four port-related projects were selected to receive awards totaling $148.87 million, 16.45% of the total $905.25 million available. Ports receiving 2021 INFRA grants include:
- $46.87 million to the Georgia Ports Authority for a new inland container port, which will be linked with the Port of Savannah by direct, intermodal freight rail service.
- $44 million to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to modernize a section of roadway at an entrance to Port Newark and the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal.
- $49 million to PhilaPort to construct a new multi-use berth that will be used to accommodate roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) vessels.
- $9 million to the South Jersey Port Corporation for expansion of its barge capacity and intermodal rail connectivity at the Port of Salem.
