New 2026 Foundation Scholarship: Calling all Ports to Nominate a Student
The Foundation for the Seaports of the Americas is launching a new scholarship program to support undergraduates pursuing ports and maritime careers.

• Funding & awards: $5,000 scholarship for every $50,000 in minimum Foundation balance (currently $95,000 — just $5,000 from a second award).
• Apply: The application portal is open now.
• Deadline: June 26, 2026 (awards announced August 2026).
• Eligibility: Undergraduate students in maritime-related academic or workforce programs (including technical/vocational training, certificates, or registered apprenticeships) that support the ports industry.
• Nomination required: Students (including children of port employees or interns) must be nominated by an AAPA member port; each member port may nominate one applicant in this cycle.
• Application requirements: Online application, two recommendation letters (one from nominating port leadership), and a 500–750 word statement of purpose.
